He has served as a School Governor at Admirals School and as Chairman of Governors at Norwich Road School (one of his pet hates is being called a Chair!)  He was elected to Town and District Councils in 2003.  As a Breckland Councillor, he is currently an Executive Support Member for Community Engagement and also Chairman of Policy Development and Review Panel 3.  As a Town Councillor, he currently chairs the Planning Committee.
